Meine Großeltern werden langsam alt. Meine Oma hat bis letztes Jahr, bis 83, als Buchhalterin gearbeitet. Jetzt schafft sie es körperlich nicht mehr so von der Kraft her. Und seitdem sie das nicht mehr macht, ist der Kopf ein bisschen wie ausgeschaltet. Das geht super schnell und ich hab das Gefühl, wenn ich alt werde, muss ich mir unbedingt ein Hobby suchen, ob das nun ein Kleingarten oder ein Haustier ist, damit ich irgendwas zu tun habe.
Sie wollte auch so lange arbeiten, der Opa war in Frührente, hat sich um den Haushalt gekümmert, darauf hatte sie aber irgendwie kein Bock. Ich glaube, sie wusste dass es so kommt, wenn sie aufhört zu arbeiten. Sie wollte auch immer Englisch lernen und sich viel um die Kinder kümmern. Jetzt beschäftigt sie sich eher mit ihren Krankheiten, die bestimmt auch da sind aber ich glaube, es wird schlimmer wenn man zu intensiv drüber nachdenkt. Ich versuche trotzdem viel Zeit mit ihnen zu verbringen, man kennt die Großeltern irgendwie immer nicht so gut, wie man manchmal denkt und die Zeit ist kostbar.
Ich habe meinem Opa jetzt ein tolles Buch geschenkt, das nennt sich „Erzähl doch mal!“ und meine Tante hat meiner anderen Oma zu Weihnachten das Kartenspiel „Familienquiz“ geschenkt. Da gibt es 3 Aktionen: „Erzähl doch mal!“ , „Weißt du es?“ und noch eine. Und da fragt man sich dann gegenseitig, was so auf der Karte steht, also „Erzähl doch mal: Was hast du von deiner Uroma gelernt?“ Da kam raus, dass meine Tante schwarzfahren mit ihrer Oma gelernt hatte! Das war ein sehr lustiges Weihnachten, nur durch dieses Spiel.
My grandparents are slowly getting old. My grandma has been working until last year, until the age of 83, as an accountant. Now it is physically impossible for her to work any longer, she doesn’t have the energy. And since she stopped working, her head is a little like „switched off“. This happens super fast and I have got the feeling that, if I will get old, I have to find a hobby, something like a little garden or a pet, so I just have something to do.
She wanted to work that long, grandpa retired early, he took care of the household, but she didn’t really fancy doing that. I think she knew that it would happen if she stopped working. She always wanted to study English and take care of the children. Now she rather takes care of her diseases, which are there for sure, but I am of the opinion that they will become worse if you think about it too much. Nevertheless I am trying to spend a lot of time with my grandparents. You somehow don’t know your grandparents as good as you think and the time with them is precious.
Lately I gave a great book to my grandpa, it is called „Erzähl doch mal” (=”Tell me your story”) and my aunt gave my other grandma the card game “Familienquiz” (=”family quiz”) for Christmas. There are three types of actions: „Tell me“, “Do you know?” and another one. And then you ask each other what the text on the card says, for example: „Tell me: What did you learn from your great-grandmother?“ That was when my aunt revealed that she learned how to dodge the fare from her grandmother! It was a really funny Christmas, just because of this game.
